The 8th edition of the African Magic Viewers Choice Award concluded today, May 14, 2022, and ENaija TV brings to your viewing pleasure some thrilling moments from the ceremony in case you missed it.
The evening was kicked off by actress Deyemi Okanlawon, who tried to do a Will Smith stunt on the show’s host, Ik Osakioduwa, when Osakioduwa quipped about Nollywood stars needing to boost their game in movie production and acting to deserve accolades. Deyemi Okanlawon, clearly unimpressed by Osakioduwa’s jokes, rushed to the stage to greet Ik Osakioduwa, but was hauled back by bouncers.
A touching cover of ‘I was here.’ by Beyonce was performed by Kingdom Kroseide and Akunna Okechukwu in memoriam of those who’ve passed in the industry.
We also had actress Osas Ighodaro win best dressed for the night in a veekay James gown, which comes after her recent fashion fight with actress Eve Esin at Ini Edo’s 40th birthday party, where she also won Best Actress In A Drama.
How could we forget the moment Tasha Smith, a Hollywood actress, revealed a $2000 cash prize for Teniola Aladese, the trail blazer award winner?
Taiwo Ajayi Lycett, a veteran actress, made us all smile as she danced on stage to accept her lifetime achievement award and gave a great speech.
As the show came to a close, Ik Osakioduwa announced that the auditions for the 2022 edition of Big Brother Naija would begin.
Other standout performances included Yemi Alade’s opening performance, singer Lagbaja’s evergreen konko below hit, and D’banj’s show-closing song.
