BBNaija star Doyin David has talked candidly about the difficult fallout from her contentious interview, which caused a business to terminate their partnership and seek a refund of her endorsement fee.
Recounting the incident, the well-known real estate figure was speaking on the CreativiTEA podcast with host Lynda.
She said that after she made remarks in an interview that were inconsistent with the brand’s image, the company she was an ambassador for chose to cut off her relationship.
As she put it, “There is no bad or good brand. I had a brand that dropped me. They had signed me and paid me the money, but they called and asked for a refund, and it was because of an interview I did. And to be fair to them, I deserved to be dropped because why did I talk?”
Doyin also gave some thought to her experience on Big Brother Naija, acknowledging that her 2022 “Level Up” character did not really reflect who she really is.
She acknowledged that she was hiding the fact that she was actually someone who was not afraid of conflict, but that she was portraying a more adult and peaceful character.
“My first run wasn’t my best run, to be honest. I have been on the show twice, and I came out of the show, and I hated it. I was fake. I came out with the narrative that Doyin is too mature. She is always trying to talk things out; that’s not really me oo. In real life, I fight” Doyin added.
