Zion and Chinwe, former housemates and lovers from Big Brother Naija Season 9, got into a heated argument on the first episode of the BBNaija reunion show on Monday night.
Who started their breakup was the main point of contention.
Zion insisted he ended the relationship, saying, “I basically ended things [broke up with Chinwe].”
When host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu asked why, Zion explained, “Because I felt like we were moving in different places in our lives; how she let it play out.”
However, Chinwe strongly disagreed, calling his version of events false.
“What Zion will not do is sit here and lie on me now,” she fired back.
Zion questioned, “How did I lie on you?”
Chinwe responded: “You could have owned the narrative, my love. What do you mean you broke up with me?”
She went on to recount a specific incident, saying Zion went clubbing the night before she was due to return to her base, despite her request that they spend time together.
She said he turned off his phone, and when he eventually returned the next day, he claimed he couldn’t find a ride — even though he went to a friend’s place nearby.
The most explosive part of Chinwe’s revelation was when she claimed that Zion’s family dislikes her, not because of her personality, but because she openly admitted during the show that she had been financially supporting Zion, who she claims was struggling at the time.
“His family can’t stand me because I exposed the truth. They wanted to package him as this big boy, but I told the world I was the one footing his bills,” Chinwe added.
As expected, social media exploded with reactions, with many netizens sympathizing with Chinwe, while others felt she had gone overboard with her constant reminders of her financial sacrifices.
