A tense moment occurred on Big Brother Naija Season 10 when Mide and Kayikunmi sat down to discuss the mounting turmoil surrounding their relationship.
Mide talked candidly about how she felt when he previously admitted that he liked another girl in the house.
“I don’t think you should have said that you like somebody else. I’m not trying to police what you say. I’m just trying to say this is 48 hours,” Mide told him. Kayikunmi responded gently, “Baby girl, we’ve had that conversation not once or twice. She asked me if I am sure.”
Mide pressed further. “Are you sure of what?” she asked. Kayikunmi replied, “Am I sure that I wanna be with her.” Mide sighed. “I’m just surprised that we have reaction.”
Kayikunmi tried to explain the situation. “That’s what surprises me because she doesn’t give off that energy as someone that…and for her to do that there, you know…” Mide cut in. “It’s not about her. It’s about you. What are you doing that is still making her react that way? What are you giving off?”
As they continued, Kayikunmi revealed the depth of his interaction. “On the first day, she said that I said something that sparked something. That night, she invited me to her bed. On the first day we spoke and I crashed. She’s like, ‘I’m the only person she feeling.’ Not like I’m not feeling her too, but in my head I’m like, if anything is gonna happen, it’s probably gonna be in here.”
Mide asked directly if anything physical had happened. Kayikunmi admitted, “A kiss.”
Mide said the kiss explained the reaction she witnessed. “I can see why she would feel that way. You guys kissing is literally going to go round and she might feel a bit stupid. I’m just tryna rationalise the reaction I saw today.”
Kayikunmi asked if Mide thought they should “dead it.” Mide replied softly, “I think we can dead it.” When Kayikunmi asked why, she opened up. “It’s just a lot. I want to take step back. I don’t wanna feel like this.”
Kayikunmi insisted his honesty came from liking her. “Yes, from the jump I was attracted to you. I liked you. That’s why I’m telling you everything that transpired.”
Mide responded with a heavy heart. “I appreciate the honesty but it’s literally going to go round and I’d have a target on my back. I would be the home breaker. Right now if I see her walk in here, my heart might cut.”
