#BBMzansi: Top Kitchen scandals that rocked the BBMzansi house

BBMzansi season 3 has had its fair amount of food-related drama this season. There’s been enough to work up an appetite for tantrums in the House, from a specific bunch of Housemates stockpiling leftovers for midnight indulgences to boerewors disasters. 

Here are some of the season’s most talked-about food moments so far.

Fake story Over Pizza: There was a lot of drama because pizza was prepared with dirty tactics, which resulted in what most people could not even eat. Then, later, the people in charge of making the pizza were the first to get their hands on the pizza that had been ordered. The controversy over the premium and DIY pizzas erupted to the point where Sis Tamara and her then-DHoH Yoli had to convene a meeting to resolve the situation.

THE  NTHABII DIRTY MISTAKE: Nthabii has sparked outrage on social media after being captured on tape doing something that would need her to wash her hands – which she did not – while cooking. 

THE GANG AT 2 A.M: In the House, there have been several meetings about dubious food schemes. The ‘2 AM gang,’ a group of Housemates who wait for everyone to be asleep before raiding the kitchen to serve themselves, was one such incident. Then-Head of House Sis Tamara had to remind the Housemates that they are all equal during one of the sessions. There will be no ‘connections’ in the way food is given. And there was no doubt that the 2 A.M. gang was causing annoyance in the House. Despite his personal history of eating more than others, Gash1 held a meeting and bashed the 2 AM Club when he became Head of House.

THE AMAGWINYA SCANDAL OF VENUS: One can tell when a fatcake was cooked with love, according to legend. What “they” don’t realize is that love isn’t enough; amagwinya requires a great deal of accuracy. It’s simple to undercook or overcook them. They come out with a lot of dough if you blink or miss a beat. There’s no turning back now that the ruined batch has arrived. When Venus performed hers, she had the greatest of intentions, but the results were less than ideal. Her amagwinya rocked, but only because they had dried up beyond what could be eaten quickly.

THE BOEREWORS DRIBBLED BY NTHABII: If you’ve ever been at a braai, you know how sensitive the locals are about their wors. South Africans panicked  when Nthabii’s innovative methods for preparing boerewors was televised. While the most common method of cooking boerewors does not include boiling it for a minute just before it becomes minced beef, Nthabii had other ideas. Furthermore, she began heaping potatoes into the stew before dumping water on the entire thing. On social networking sites, it created a buzz.
