The Top 5 had ardent supporters who fought to the bitter end for their favorite! Here’s how their supporters helped them get to the finish line while also ensuring that they individually broke the internet during Season 3 of BBMzansi!
There is no other reality TV show that has the same amount of fan devotion as Big Brother. BBMzansi was no exception! Africa began identifying whose Housemate they felt the most drawn to as soon as this season’s batch of Housemates entered the House!
Each Housemate had their own legion of devoted admirers by the end of the first week, rallying, campaigning, stanning, drooling, screaming, shrieking, and just about anything short of passing out whenever they appeared on the TV. Furthermore, each Housemate’s stan assembly did a thorough dive into the character of their favorite and used that to define their stan assembly. Here’s a look at the fan cultures of the Top 5.
THE UNDERGROUND GANG
Mphowabadimo’s supporters were ecstatic about what she stood for. From her beauty to her life’s calling as a spiritual healer, the energy she brought into the House, her dress sense, and her dance moves, she was a sight to behold. The 2000s began referring to themselves as “the underground gang” because their work entails communicating with ancestors. There’s no denying their power now that she’s the BBMzansi S3 champion. The subterranean gang’s ferocity, however, could not be denied throughout the season!

For one thing, a few ships were turned down by many. “Vote for Mphowabadimo and Mphowabadimo ALONE!” was the message. So by the time her best friend in the House, Nthabii, was nominated alongside her, they’d made sure that everyone knew their votes were going to their Queen.
THE GASHERS
Gash1’s followers are fervent, as evidenced by the fact that he came so close to winning R2 million. The Gashers are unusual in that they will never hesitate to flow with the highs and lows of Gash1’s complex game in the House. Gash1 took pride in being a strategist, and he approached his game with the intensity of a hunter. It worked some of the time, but it also caused a backlash in the House.

Fortunately for him, the Gashers outside were always ready to remind everyone that this was a game, and it had to be played well! What else stands out about the Gashers? SURE was made! Every other week, Gash1 stood up for nominations, but the Gashers were only strong enough to propel him into the Top 2. Not to mention how his connection with Thato rapidly elevated them to the status of a ‘power couple,’ as the latter is regarded as a hero by his admirers.
THE GHOST NATION
What you won’t do is pretend you’ve never experienced the Ghost Nation’s power and influence! We can’t keep track of how many times ‘THE MONEY IS GHOSTED’ has trended! ‘PARTY WITH THEMBA’ did the same whenever the Saturday Night Party aired. From the beginning, Themba’s admirers have been confident, never missing a chance to let us know that ‘The Ghost’ is an icon, a legend, and the moment.

They made their favorite the talk of the town. They were enthralled by the main character’s vigor. They also laughed at his antics, admired his unmistakable sense of style, admired his artistic abilities, fought his foes, supported his alliances, and talked with the Dracula accent. The Ghost Nation is a powerful force that has rocked the nation!
LIBO BOMB
Libo was one of the House’s loveliest and kindest souls. He was careful to be true to himself to the very end, refusing to succumb to the seductions of backstabbing, flip flipping, and snitching in order to advance in the game. Libo Bombs adored their favorite since he was not just beautiful with a gym-god figure, but also friendly to his other Housemates. Slander hurled at i-Boy was never tolerated by Libo Bombs! They stood, fought, advocated, and represented the cause until the very end.
Tulz had one thing going for him: he was a major game player! It changed the House’s landscape, influenced Nominations, and prevented him from ever standing for Nominations. His performance in the House was so impressive that the people began to believe his jersey was endowed with supernatural abilities. How else could they explain how he was consistently outplayed, to the point that he was named Player of the Year three times this season? How did Sis Tamara save him twice? How did Themba get him to the top five?
His fans, on the other hand, were well aware of this. Tulz had his foot on the necks of their favorites. If you despise the game, don’t despise the player! Tulz fans, like Tulz in the House, have acted as a calming influence.
