Whitemoney, a reality TV star, has begged with detractors of his music career to support him, saying that there is no going back on his decision to pursue a career in music.
He recently told media personality Olamide Famuwagun that while music is his passion, he realizes that many of his followers want him to start a restaurant.
Recall Many suspected that Whitemoney displaying his cooking talents during the reality TV show was a tactic to win the show.
Many people expected Whitemoney to become a celebrity chef with multiple restaurants when the BBNaija competition concluded, but he disappointed them by choosing music instead.
Since his expulsion from the show, Whitemoney has published two songs, but many Nigerians have mocked him and urged him to abandon music.
However, in recent interviews, Whitemoney stated that he has no doubts about his music career and that he believes he will win the Grammy eventually.
He also stated that he will continue to pursue his interest since he does not want to grow old and regret not doing what he enjoys.
Following is an excerpt from the interview:
WHY DO YOU THINK PEOPLE WERE SURPRISED WHEN YOU DECIDED TO GO INTO MUSIC?
“THIS IS BECAUSE EVERYONE (FANS) WANTS ME TO COOK, THEY DON’T WANT ME TO SING OR RATHER THEY DIDN’T KNOW I WILL TAKE MUSIC SERIOUSLY BUT I’M CHASING MY PASSION AND WHAT I LOVE. I DON’T WANT TO BE THE GUY THAT GETS OLD AND REGRETS NOT DOING WHAT HE LOVES. I’M JUST DOING ME AND I’M HAPPY”.
“PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE DIFFERENT WITH DIFFERENT UNIQUE SOUNDS. I HAVE NEVER HAD DOUBT IN MYSELF OR MY CAREER BECAUSE ONE DAY, I WILL WIN THE GRAMMY. YOU CAN’T GET IT RIGHT AT ONCE OR ALL THE TIME. THAT’S WHY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM IS PART OF THE PROCESS. BUT WHEN IT’S NOT, I IGNORE IT BECAUSE THE MORE YOU CRITICIZE, THE MORE GOD BLESSES ME AND I CASH OUT”.
