Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, a prominent preacher in Port Harcourt, has finally responded to the claims leveled against him by former security guards known as the Happie Boys.
The viral duo, Matthew Precious Kelechi and Amakor Johnson, publicly chastised the philanthropist, accusing him of canceling their fully paid scholarship and abandoning them in Cyprus.
Apostle Chibuzor pardons the Happie Boys and grants a scholarship to a Nigerian university.
In response to the allegations, Apostle Chibuzor resorted to Facebook to explain his side of the story.
He confessed that he had put a halt to the funding of their scholarship due to the rising dollar rate, which had put a huge financial strain on him.
The pastor revealed that he has over 4,000 people on his scholarship programs, and the rising expenditures have become burdensome.
Apostle Chibuzor explained that the scholarship halt affected other students as well, and that he had informed their parents of the situation.
Given the financial constraints he faced, he offered them the option of allowing their children to complete their studies at any university in Nigeria or Benin Republic.
Regardless of how the Happie Boys handled the situation, Apostle Chibuzor conveyed his forgiveness to them.
He stated his willingness to reinstate their scholarships at any university in Nigeria or the Benin Republic.
He also stated that the required arrangements for the duo’s return to Nigeria were being made.
He wrote; “I also communicated to every parent and gave them options either to return to Nigeria and continue their studies or go to Benin Republic. Now, because of God and as a father, I have decided to forgive Happie Boys for whatever they posted against me and the church. On this note, I have decided to restore their scholarship to continue in any university in Nigeria or Benin Republic. I have instructed the matron, whom I employed to take care of them, to arrange their ticket to return to Nigeria.”
